Would archaeology students be interested in learning by digging around for shards and whatnot? I’m aware it’s not the site of ruins but may contain trash of the era, which is treasure of today’s archaeologists.
A few streets over there used to be a similar structure at the end of Makechnie on the trail to the rez… I think the neighborhood kids called it “Witches’ Valley.” My thought is these were vacation cottages. Not sure if it is there anymore.
Growing up on Francis Wyman Rd there were some old fieldstone foundations along the Billerica side of the street just off Cambridge St.. A development was designed back in the early 20s for a subdivision called “River Bank Terrace”. When the depression hit some of those summer cottages became year round homes. Yet others were abandoned probably for a lack of money or the Town became owners of the property for back taxes..
Could the Ipswitch River area have been the draw for early 1920s settlers off of Sparhawk. Like the Shawsheen River was for Pinehurst?
Great video!
I live on Sparhawk Dr and I never even knew those existed!
We used to play here in those foundations in the 70s and 80s. Wow blast from past!!!

Thanks for sharing
Where is the first foundation and others?
Maybe GPS. Used to walk my dogs in that area there was an old rusted out 1930’s Ford!
Old Ford pickup? I think you’re referring to the Chandler Road area. This video is about the woods between Sparhawk Drive and the reservoir lower dam.
Thanks for this. Never knew these existed.
