Thieves pull tape decks from mall parking lot

Cars and tape decks stolen — A car owned by John F. Corsano of Stoneham was stolen from the Burlington Mall last night. Thieves also stole three tape decks from cars parked in the mall parking lot.

Softball game triggers alarm — Pine Glen was evacuated and a fire crew rushed to the school, all in error. Some children were playing softball in the gym and the ball accidentally hit the fire alarm.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church breaks ground — The church is expected to open in the fall. Attending the groundbreaking: Congressman F. Bradford Morse and Rev. John Mr. Burgess, bishop of Massachusetts, who will also perform a confirmation ceremony for 22 young people.
