That looks like a beautiful late 1970s Pioneer SX-780 stereo receiver making music for the place!
The Record Shop. Went there a lot.
the record shoppe – he was a great guy. loved going in there. I still have promo posters that he gave me.
I don’t know his name and I don’t think I’ve seen him in 40 years but I instantly knew who he was! Wow!
I used to work at Cenci’s and every Saturday I would take half of my pay check and spend it there!
A new album, or going to Ray’s Barber Shop for pinball. Tough choices back in the day.
The Music Shoppe a great Store.I beleive the Store owners ñame was Jim Hart
Definitely a big part of my childhood. Ty for sharing
Loved him! He would often help me find hard to find records and posters for my dad. Best place to walk to in town as a music lover kid growing up in Burlington.
This guy was awesome. We were pals all through my teens when I chased the band Heart!
Music Shop. I remember him too. I bought all of my ELO records there!
Awesome throw back, spent a few bucks here, wish I still had the gear/ albums I would have made a profit on what I spent!
I remember Jimmy and his wife..great couple. One of my first stores was a few doors down from the Music Shoppe.
Hi Fern! Good to see your post. I remember my sister Sharon working at the little store for you back in the day!
Bought my first Led Zeppelin album there!
used to hitchhike from Pinehurst to go to the music shoppe
Jim and his wife and sons. Such wonderful people. Got a great music education from them and still have a LOT of vinyl and buttons I bought from that store. I think he had a Wakefield store for a while too. Run to Cenci’s for day old doughnuts and a Coke in Glass bottles from the machine. Drop some money on 45’s and 33.5’s and enjoy 12 x 12 cover art.
I remember buying the NWA cassette there. I was maybe 12. He said, ‘do your parents know you’re buying this?’ I of course said, ‘yup’. From that point on I always bought my ‘Parental Advisory, Explicit Lyrics’ tapes from this place.
