John Doe from Muller Road
In the summer of 1975, Muller Road turned ugly.

Just the facts:
- Fifty summers ago, May 22, 1975, hikers found a shallow grave off Muller Road in a “lovers’ lane” area.
- Authorities recovered the body of a young man with fatal head wounds.
- Investigators said the victim was in his late 20s or early 30s, stood 5′ 10″ to 6′ tall, long dark hair, likely with a beard. A pair of eyeglasses and a case were buried with him. He was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, canvas sneakers, an army fatigue-style jacket and a necklace with this pendant:

- Investigators exhumed his body in 2003 and ran DNA testing, which revealed only that he was likely of southern European descent. That’s all. And so, 50 years later, Burlington’s cold case remains frigid.
- The Middlesex County District Attorney’s office and Burlington Police are asking families in New England — especially families of Italian, Spanish, or Greek extraction, who may have lost touch with a younger male relative in the early 1970s — to contact investigators by phone at 781-897-6600, or by email at MiddlesexColdCaseTips@mass.gov.
- This case has been investigated by the Middlesex DA’s Cold Case Unit, State Trooper Mark Delaney and Burlington police Lt. Glen Mills. The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney David Solet, chief of the Cold Case Homicide Unit.
