In the last pic with Mr. Ganley, I believe the girl on the right holding the softball is my neighbor Debbie Kelly.
yes, looks like MY neighbor, Debbie Kelly… –Ellen Keohane 🙂
I was going to comment the same. I graduated with Deb in 1983. Recognized her right away, and I know she played softball

In reference to the Kemps Hamburgers pic, there is no ice cream carousel yet as well.
Good photo of the Blenkhorn property. To link it to some others of your BurlingtonRetro photographs – The house in the upper right was the home of William and Arthur Kerrigan purchased as part of their farm around 1920. In the early years they used a horse to operate farm machinery who was kept in the barn in the upper left.

The Piper Boys photo…..my eldest brother, Fred Osborne Jr., (Freddie Boy lol) front row 2nd from right.
Al Gurney was our neighbor across the street on Lexington St. His home still stands next to the temple.
I think that’s the same Mr. Ganley who was the janitor at Fox Hill while I was there. I also remember an Officer Peterson when I was a kid. Looks like his whole family had a legacy of being family cops…..unless it’s a coincidence.
Classmate George Brown was the closest house to Kemps . I always thought that was cool .
Ask him if he has any photos.
Those were the days. the best.
hey bill, glad to see youre still alive and kicking…………..the horses name was dick, and jeannie blenkhorns grandaughter used to ride on it,as we came back from the fields………….it was an education to see old arthur handle dick when plowing……………………carl, farmhand, 1952
That’s Harry wheeler on the far right in the Cushman’s Hardware little league photo. A wonderful man.
does anyone know where they moved the old blenkhorn, kerrigan barn to………………..they dismantled it after the property was sold……………………and rebuilt it somewhere west of boston,i believe. arthur kerrigan once pointed out to me,that it was built without metal nails…..in those days, they used drills and wooden plugs……………early 18oos…………………carl johnson,bhs,54
you can just see part of the roof for the ice cream carousel at Kemps. the stand opened in 67′ or 68′. we used to stop by after our ball games for some ice cream.
